WE'RE LIVE! Boost Academy of Excellence is Open for Business

Hello Reader,

Back at the end of 2024, I announced that I'd be launching Boost Academy of Excellence late spring. While it took a bit longer than I had hoped, I'm thrilled to announce that after 9 months in development, Boost Academy of Excellence is officially open for business!

Our website is live and we're ready to transform workplace professionalism.

The Story Behind Boost Academy of Excellence

The idea came from a conversation with a global advertising agency CEO years ago. She told me she was struggling with her junior staff - they were embarrassing her organization with poorly worded emails, awkward client interactions, and cringeworthy business meals. "They're talented," she said, "but no one ever taught them how to be professional."

That conversation stuck with me, especially as I watched the pandemic fundamentally change how we connect. Junior talent was onboarded exclusively online for years. We stopped making eye contact. We forgot how to read a room. We developed habits that worked great on Zoom but fell flat in boardrooms.

Since becoming a licensed business etiquette trainer in Fall 2024, I've discovered what senior leaders constantly tell me: early professionals, emerging leaders, and mid-level managers need these skills most. The result? Training that bridges generational expectations and modern workplace dynamics.

What Makes Us Different

This isn't your grandmother's etiquette training. We're talking about the skills no one teaches but everyone assumes you have - like why asking "can I pick your brain?" kills networking opportunities, how the way you hold your drink at events actually matters, why "Ok." feels aggressive to some colleagues while "k" feels unprofessional to others, and why workplace incivility costs organizations $14,000 per employee annually.

Join my Exclusive Leader's Webinar (Leaders & Managers Only)

Hello Reader,As of January 2026, Ontario employers must notify all interviewed candidates about their hiring status within 45 days – whether you’ve made a decision or not. Miss the deadline, and you could face complaints with the Ministry of Labour. The Human Side of Hiring When I ran recruitment agency Boost Agents, we implemented a regular candidate check-in every few days during active searches. Not because we had to, but because we understood that how we treated candidates reflected our...

Hello Reader,I'd like to share a story from years ago that really drove home why meeting cancellations matter more than we think. It was a weekday morning and I had to wake up my 12-month-old daughter at 5:30 AM for an important 7 AM meeting. I nursed her earlier than usual (which threw off her entire day), scrambled to get her ready for an early daycare drop-off, and rushed through traffic. When I arrived at the office at 6:55 AM, there was a text sent just 20 minutes prior: "Hey, something...

Hello Reader,Your marketing team of 20 just became a team of 6. AI handles the rest. Everything's running smoothly until your one remaining human sends a tone-deaf email to your biggest client. They fire you. Not because your AI wasn't good enough, but because your human wasn't. I've been wrestling with this scenario as I observe the AI transformation happening across industries. AI agents are already replacing entire job functions, from legal research to medical documentation. Entry-level...
