Exciting Training Updates + Emily Post's Business Etiquette Book is Here!
Published about 2 months ago • 3 min read
Hello Reader, I wanted to share some exciting updates, starting with something that continues to inspire my work every day.
Being part of the Emily Post Institute's community of Licensed Business Etiquette trainers has been rewarding, and I take pride in being part of this global network of dedicated professionals who share a commitment to excellence, ongoing learning, and adapting timeless principles to meet modern workplace needs. It's this dedication that makes announcements like today's so meaningful to our entire community.
It's finally out - 'Emily Post's Business Etiquette', released May 20, 2025!
Exciting News from Emily Post Institute
The Emily Post Institute has just launched their latest book: Emily Post's Business Etiquette. As Boost Academy of Excellence is a Licensed Business Etiquette trainer, this updated edition ensures all of us in the training community stay current, relevant, and aligned with modern workplace realities - something we take great pride in collectively.
I'm so happy to support Lizzie Post and Daniel Post Senning, who have worked tirelessly to get this book out the door. We've seen them meet various milestones along the way - I was even there to help lend some feedback on the cover colour when I was last in Vermont! It's been a joy to see them finish this project, and we're honoured to celebrate this success with them.
It's a comprehensive guide that addresses everything today's professionals need to know - from traditional workplace etiquette like business correspondence and thank-you notes to modern challenges like Slack communication, cell phone etiquette, video conferencing, and post-pandemic workplace dynamics.
At its core, the book reinforces a fundamental truth: no matter the industry or position, business is built on relationships - and at the heart of all good relationships is good etiquette. Understanding good business etiquette and how to adapt it to your job is key to building a successful career. Work environments are complex, and it's important to know how to identify what type of environment you're in and how to adjust your behaviour accordingly. For instance, how you adjust your attire as you transition from a large corporation to a small start-up (or vice-versa) will greatly determine your new colleagues' first impression of you.
Recent Training Success: Dining Etiquette for Emerging Leaders
Speaking of practical application, I recently had the pleasure of delivering a Dining Etiquette for Emerging Leaders session with Sheridan College, and I'm excited to share that it was a tremendous success. There were over 450 RSVP'd, and the engagement throughout the session was wonderful.
Participants learned the practical value of learning Continental vs. American dining styles, proper alcohol protocols, etiquette around ordering, and navigating complex table settings - skills that immediately boosted their confidence in business dining situations.
The positive feedback has been consistent across different audiences and organizations. Here's what participants had to say: "This webinar will help people feel more confident and prepared for business meals." - Kaksha Mehta, Director of Acquisition, Term Investments & Savings, RBC
"Now I feel so much more confident handling formal dining situations." - Sandra Colaire, Executive Director, Palais Noir The feedback from Anam Ahmad, Alumni Engagement Officer at Sheridan College who hosted the event, was equally encouraging: "Trina brought a level of professionalism and polish that made the planning process seamless, and what really stood out was her genuine passion for sharing knowledge and creating a welcoming, engaging space to learn. I was continuously impressed by how much thought and care she put into crafting her content to fit the audience."
What This Means For Your Team
The results speak for themselves. Organizations that invest in professional etiquette training see tangible benefits: enhanced company reputation through professionally equipped talent representing your brand, reduced workplace friction and improved team integration for new professionals navigating team dynamics, and higher levels of trust-building by equipping professionals with advanced relationship skills. Through my years of coaching professionals on professional presence, professionalism, and networking, I've witnessed these outcomes firsthand. Drawing on Emily Post's time-tested principles while customizing content for your specific industry and workplace culture, I design training programs that deliver these measurable outcomes for your organization.
Website Update: Making our Digital Space Inclusive
I'm also excited to share an update on my website development. We're currently going through an accessibility audit to ensure an incredible experience for everyone - both online and offline. This means we're making sure our website works well for people using screen readers, those who navigate with keyboards instead of a mouse, and anyone with visual, hearing, or motor differences. Leading this process has been an eye-opening experience and reinforced my belief that true workplace etiquette includes making our professional spaces - and our website - accessible and inclusive for all. After all, etiquette is fundamentally about consideration and respect for others, which naturally extends to ensuring everyone can participate fully in our professional environments.
More updates soon! Warm regards,
Trina Boos Founder & CEO Boost Academy of Excellence

Hello Reader,Back at the end of 2024, I announced that I'd be launching Boost Academy of Excellence late spring. While it took a bit longer than I had hoped, I'm thrilled to announce that after 9 months in development, Boost Academy of Excellence is officially open for business! Our website is live and we're ready to transform workplace professionalism. Visit Our New Website The Story Behind Boost Academy of Excellence The idea came from a conversation with a global advertising agency CEO...
Hello Reader,As of January 2026, Ontario employers must notify all interviewed candidates about their hiring status within 45 days – whether you’ve made a decision or not. Miss the deadline, and you could face complaints with the Ministry of Labour. The Human Side of Hiring When I ran recruitment agency Boost Agents, we implemented a regular candidate check-in every few days during active searches. Not because we had to, but because we understood that how we treated candidates reflected our...
Hello Reader,I'd like to share a story from years ago that really drove home why meeting cancellations matter more than we think. It was a weekday morning and I had to wake up my 12-month-old daughter at 5:30 AM for an important 7 AM meeting. I nursed her earlier than usual (which threw off her entire day), scrambled to get her ready for an early daycare drop-off, and rushed through traffic. When I arrived at the office at 6:55 AM, there was a text sent just 20 minutes prior: "Hey, something...
